The seminars will begin at 09:30 and include a
series of short presentations from practitioners from the emergency
services the school education sector, and academics, followed by
discussion sessions. The afternoon session will be given over to debate
around a set of key questions concerning UK Disaster Education. One of
the features of the Series is its wide geographical coverage, with
variation between participants from one location to the next. Some
common questions will be repeated in the different locations to
ascertain different perspectives and contributions from regions of the
UK. However, a number of themes and accompanying questions are expected
to build from one seminar to the next. Attendance at a Seminar must be
arranged with the organisers in advance.
A summary document will be produced from each seminar which will
contribute to an overall working paper for the series. This may be
developed into a book over the longer time frame. It is likely that some
of the material will also enter the public domain via conventional
journal papers.
