 Dealing with Disasters Conference 2007

The Dealing with Disasters Conference 2007 was organised jointly by Northumbria, Teeside and Glamorgan Universities. This conference aimed to explore and highlight resilience, response, investigation and recovery strategies for dealing with both natural and man-made disasters nationally and in an international context.
In terms of the Japan - UK link, the fire chief officer of Kyoto city fire department, Mr. Yoshio Orisaka was invited to the conference and gave a keynote lecture and Prof. Norio Okada (DPRI, Kyoto University) and Prof. Kaoru Takara (DPRI, Kyoto University) were also invited. and with Dr. Andrew Collins jointly organised the Japan - UK session in the conference.
